Why I started Nature’s Food Co

I’ve been confused about food for as long as I can remember.

I’ve been confused about food for as long as I can remember. Growing up, there were so many mixed messages — low-fat everything, low-calorie rules, “good” foods, “bad” foods, and labels that sounded healthy but weren’t. Instead of creating understanding, it created mistrust. Instead of clarity, it created confusion.

And over time, the noise only grew louder.

And over time, the noise only grew louder. Bright packaging, bold health claims, “kid-friendly” snacks, and marketing aimed directly at children made it harder and harder to know what was real, what was helpful, and what was just clever branding.

That confusion followed me into adulthood — until I had my daughter.

I didn’t always know what to believe, which foods to trust, or how to navigate a world where convenience foods were everywhere and real food was harder to see.

Everything shifted when I became a parent.

I wanted her to grow up with clarity, not confusion. Confidence, not overwhelm.

I started reading, researching and learning properly for the first time, and slowly I began to see through the noise.

It wasn’t just about me anymore and i wanted my daughter to have a better relationship with food.

Kids don’t stand in supermarkets weighing up ingredients or nutrition — they’re drawn to what shouts the loudest.

Highly marketed foods, playful packaging and misleading “healthy” labels make processed options look irresistible, while real food stays quiet in the background.

It’s no surprise children (and adults!) reach for what they see most.

What became clear is this:

I created Nature’s Food Co because I wanted to change that.

Nature’s Food Co exists to give real food a louder voice — one children can actually see, understand and feel excited about.

Because every child deserves a better relationship with food than the one many of us grew up with.

Not through guilt, perfection or pressure, but through simplicity, curiosity and practical tools that fit into  a happy and healthy life.
